Leadership in Heels is a Women’s History Month experience designed to bring women across our community together for connection, conversation, and celebration. Set in the historic elegance of The Savoy, this event creates a space where leadership is not just discussed—but seen, shared, and felt.

This night is about more than being in the room. It’s about what happens because of it—new connections, renewed confidence, and a reminder of the power each woman carries in every step she takes.

Founded in 1989 as Families Under Urban and Social Attack (FUUSA), and most recently known as Change Happens!, Civic Heart Community Services brings over three decades of proven impact serving vulnerable and disadvantaged populations.

What began as a single program has grown into a network of more than 25 programs and 70+ employees, reaching over 65,000 individuals annually.

Through this work, Civic Heart:

Provides prevention education, skills training, and alternative activities to over 7,000 youth (ages 6–17)
Delivers after-school and summer enrichment to over 150 youth annually
Offers housing for 72 individuals experiencing homelessness
Assists more than 2,000 families in enrolling in health insurance
Connects 200 low-income adults to education, training, and employment opportunities
Supports justice-involved youth, reducing recidivism—80% of girls in the VOICES program have not reoffended

Civic Heart takes a holistic approach to addressing the social determinants of health, creating lasting change in the communities we serve.
