Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,

Our beloved Madge, Diné (Navajo) and Danish ancestry, continues her courageous journey of healing after a near-fatal car crash on her way to work September 2025. She is currently receiving in-patient care at a medical facility in Santa Fe, NM, where she remains under close supervision for several more weeks.

Madge is recovering from a bi-lateral pelvic fracture, is non-weight bearing on both legs, and continues to experience blurred vision due to a traumatic brain injury. Her care team is also closely monitoring her liver and spleen. Despite these serious injuries, Madge’s progress has been nothing short of inspiring.

Each day, she is building upper body strength, gently allowing her internal organs to heal, and celebrating small but powerful victories — her cuts and bruises have nearly healed, her memory and cognition are fully intact, and she continues to have feeling and sensation in both legs and feet. Her left leg remains more severely injured and will require more time and patience, but she is meeting each challenge with remarkable determination and grace.

Through it all, Madge’s spirit shines brightly. Her sense of humor, positivity, and inner strength continue to lift those around her. She’s been deeply connecting with her ancestral healing energies, embracing her spiritual path with newfound clarity and reverence. This chapter, while difficult, is also becoming a time of profound awakening and transformation for her.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, donations, and messages that have poured in from every direction — from family, friends, artists, and community members across many circles. Your kindness has wrapped her in comfort and reminded us all how powerful community truly is.

This is just the beginning of a long road ahead, but we are filled with faith, hope, and love knowing Madge is surrounded by such an incredible circle of support. We are endlessly thankful that she is still here with us — her laughter, her wisdom, and her heart remain our greatest blessings.

Madge looks forward to reconnecting with everyone who has shown her compassion and thoughtfulness during this time, and she’s already dreaming of the day she can return to the simple joys of work, art, and community once again.
