Disorders of the Corpus Callosum (DCC) are the result of differences in brain development within the corpus callosum, the part of the human brain that connects the two hemispheres. Every case is unique with studies suggesting that 1 in 2,053 people have some form of DCC ranging from lifelong medical care to those that may require very little medical treatment and invisible disabilities. More diagnoses are expected in the future with better access to brain scans.

While DCC presents challenges, it does not define a person’s potential. With the right support, individuals with these conditions can lead fulfilling, meaningful lives and make valuable contributions to their communities.
