My name is Jerry Brimeyer. My wife Gail and I are the owner/proprietors of Shenanigan’s Pub. My family, patrons, committee members and I are avid supporters of the Veterans Freedom Center in Dubuque Iowa and work closely with many of their members. Each year, we at Shenanigan’s Pub organize a fund raiser benefiting the Veterans Freedom Center’s operational expenses and “Operation We Care”, a branch of the Veterans Freedom Center. Unfortunately, we recently had to close our establishment due to unforeseen circumstances. However, we are still holding our annual benefit. This year’s benefit will take place on Saturday, June 14 th at Eichmans Bar & Family Restaurant. The Veterans Freedom Center and Operation We Care supports area veterans and their families that have needs whereby all other means of assistance is not available or has been exhausted. Some examples of such support have been assisting homeless veterans, rent or mortgage assistance, transportation assistance, utilities assistance, food and clothing. It also provides refurbished lift chairs, wheelchairs and walkers to the veterans and their families in need. Thanks to donors, such as yourself, along with community support, we have been able to raise a total of $389,820.04 since 2013. This year we are hoping to go above and beyond on raising funds for the VFC and “Operation We Care” and are asking for your assistance. At this time, we have begun contacting numerous businesses such as yours and requesting your support either in funds or merchandise that can be auctioned at the fund-raising event. In return for your donation your company or business’s name will be recognized on various publicity materials and at the benefit.
