The 50th Annual Fourth of July Parade and Picnic is coming up on Sunday June 30th, this year from 12 to about 4pm. More details and parade schedule below.

For those who haven't experienced it, it is a wonderful community event, a throwback to small town parades of yore: firetrucks, tractor floats, egg tosses, kids carnival games, silent auction, a live band, and a great family, carnival game atmosphere. Beer will be available for $5, courtesy of sponsor Lost Abbey Brewery and tacos from MexicoCity Cuisine will be served. It's a great time to catch up with neighbors and to share a sense of community.

This year we'll be celebrating 47 years of hosting the event and a testimony to this community's strength and unity despite threats from all sides over the years. We've been doing this for more than 47 years and, with your help, it will be another 47. We'll also be celebrating our new community room which the Fire District along with donors and others in the community helped build.

SCHEDULE

Friday, June 28th (SET UP)

4pm to 6pm: Putting up big tent and smaller tents. Then head over to Lost Abbey for "Office Hours"

Saturday , June 29th (SET UP)

10am - 12pm: Setting up tables, games, DJ and beer garden. Need volunteers here as well. Beer will be provided for those who show up.

Sunday June 30th (PARADE AND PICNIC)

9am - 12pm: Picnic set up (for volunteers, show up before road closes)

12pm - 2pm: Elfin Forest Road closed for parade (please plan accordingly!)

12pm - 12:30pm: Parade floats, horses and walkers begin lining up at Sage Hill vault and across the street. Parade watchers stake out choice viewing/cheering spots along parade route.

12:30pm: Parade starts led by the fire apparatus of RSF Fire District and our own EFHG Volunteers and will proceeds down Elfin Forest Road to the fire station. The Citizen of the Year will also lead the procession.

1pm - 4pm: Picnic, band, games and silent auction at the firehouse will follow the parade.

4pm: Begin breaking down event (volunteers needed for this as well).
