About the fundraiser:

Join us for an adults-only night out, overlooking Oakland's beautiful Lake Merritt bird sanctuary: Including an artist-led painting lesson, charcuterie, as well as California wine and N/A beverage tasting. Celebrate, support and learn! We have included sliding scale ticket pricing from covering basic costs to supporting our work.

$45 admission price covers:

Painting materials and instruction
Wine and non-alchoholic beverages
Charcuterie and snacks

*Supporter and Impact admission includes a tax-deductable donation which helps cover sliding scales and scholarships for families!

About the program:

Brought to you by the Center for Early Childhood Connections in partnership with the Junior Center of Art and Science the "Creating Art Together" program will be an ongoing opportunity for children in Oakland to form strong bonds with a caregiver in an inclusive, nurturing setting. Creativity-centered, parent-child sessions use artmaking, sensory exploration, and play to strengthen bonds and support early learning. Activities are designed to promote language development, fine-motor skills, problem-solving, and healthy relationships.

Research has shown that children who have positive experiences like these with a caring adult experience increased resiliency throughout the lifespan and that early support programs save society up to $16 for every dollar invested. With your support, along with community grants and public funds, we hope to be able offer these classes at a low cost or free so that all families have equitible access to wellbeing and support.
