Why does BMS do fundraising events?

BMS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We strive to use our resources carefully to fulfill our mission. Nearly all of our annual budget is used for staff compensation and maintaining the supplies and equipment necessary for day-to-day operations. It doesn't provide much money for improvements or to focus on long-term goals. That's where fundraising dollars come in! They give us the ability to make improvements that benefit everyone on campus and our local environment, and to plan for our future. Some fundraising dollars are also allocated toward paying for scholarships at BMS, helping to create equity in our community and helping us to work closer to Maria Montessori's original mission.

For this event, our fundraisers are:

1) The Golden Raffle: Tickets for the Golden Raffle are $100, and anyone can participate, including parents, grandparents, friends, and other family. Tickets must be purchased through the front office between April 24 and April 28 at 5:30 pm, and must be purchased by cash or check. Tickets also will be sold at the Two Tickets to Parentdise event, with the Golden Raffle winner being drawn at the end of the event. You do not have to be present at Two Tickets to Parentdise to win. The lucky winner will receive $4000 in tuition credit to be applied to the student(s) of their choice!

2) The 50/50: At our Two Tickets to Parentdise event, you can purchase 50/50 raffle tickets for $5 each, or 5 for $20. Cash or check only. The lucky winner will split the pot evenly with BMS!

3) Silent Auction: We have a fantastic silent auction lined up thanks to the time and talents of our staff and families, and the generosity of our wonderful Bloomington community! Check out the "Auction" tab at the top of this screen to register as a bidder, browse items, and start bidding! Registration is easy and similar to any other online auction website. Online bidding will be available starting April 24th, through 9:30 pm on April 28th. Silent auction payment can be made through credit/debit card on the website, through FACTS invoice (please contact Quinn to set up payment), or by cash/check at the event.
