Each year, through the generosity of our sponsors, the Pinwheel Gala proceeds contribute approximately 10% of our annual budget to provide services for abused and neglected children. The evening features dinner, awards, live entertainment, an open bar, and a charity silent auction.

A little bit about us:

As a nationally accredited Children’s Advocacy Center, our main goal at Kay Phillips Child Advocacy Center (KPCAC) is to ensure that children disclosing abuse are not further victimized by the intervention systems designed to protect them. This is why we offer child-focused, evidence-based programs, which work closely with representatives from many other disciplines in the investigation, prosecution, and treatment of child abuse.

At KPCAC, our clinicians are the backbone of our organization, providing client services to the children we serve. All clinicians are master-level therapists and receive extensive training in order to provide forensic interviews that are legally sound and of a neutral, fact finding nature; as well as, to provide evidence-based, trauma-focused mental health services to child abuse victims and their families.

We would like to share a positive impact story with you:

Earlier this year, the father of former clients, took a moment to share with a few of our forensic interviewers and therapists just how much the center and its staff had impacted his family’s healing journey.

His children each received a forensic interview and therapeutic services. The coordinated efforts of multiple team members helped the entire family feel supported, heard, and cared for during a very difficult time.

The father shared that one of his daughter’s now proudly tells others she wants to do the work done at the center when she grows up—helping other children who have experienced trauma, just as she was helped.

This moment is a powerful reminder of the lasting impact that compassionate, trauma-informed care can have on children and families. It reflects the deep dedication of a team that works every day to create safe spaces for hope, healing, and empowerment.

Since our inception in December of 2003, we have provided services to more than 21,400 individuals. Whether a child visits our center once for their initial forensic interview, or they visit us weekly for therapy services, one thing remains true – they will NEVER receive a bill for services provided. This means that cost never gets in the way of a child’s path toward hope, healing, and empowerment.
