Queer|Art supports LGBTQ+ artists across generations and disciplines. Founded in 2009 by filmmaker Ira Sachs in response to the generational loss caused by the AIDS crisis, Queer|Art fosters intergenerational connection and mentorship—ensuring that the legacies of queer and trans artists are not only preserved, but expanded by the generations that follow. Queer|Art|Mentorship, our cornerstone program, has supported 300 artists over 14 years by building a national network. Across all of our programs, Queer|Art equips queer and trans artists to take ownership of their careers, allowing them to access opportunities that previously felt out of reach, and provides them the community and resources to evolve in their creative work.

Your support will fund what makes artistic growth possible, through direct financial support for queer and trans artists, and by investing in 1:1 mentorship, community building, professional development retreats, and the often invisible labor that sustains long-term creative relationships.
