Creating a Free State in New Hampshire...

Who:

Since his first Porcfest in 2016, Brian has been dreaming about the possibility for a large intentional community in New Hampshire.

While living nomadically for the past few years, he has attended many seminars on the subject, met many experts in the field, and gathered loads of research.

What:

Roger's Motel and Campground overlooks the White Mountains in Northern New Hampshire. The Property is made up of 300 RV sites with full hookups, and about 200 tent sites. There is also an 80 room motel. The property has hosted thousands of people for the week long Porcupine Freedom Festival for over 20 years. There is a large event pavilion with room for over 300 people, 2 swimming pools, playground, and just 5 minutes from Lancaster, NH.

Building an Intentional Community on an existing campground removes many of the barriers to entry compared to raw land purchase. The facilities are already in place to operate a small home. Combining 2 adjoining sites would provide double the resource connection.

Where:

The focus on New Hampshire is due to it's ranking among the other 50 states in the US, reiterating it's Live Free or Die motto. While New Hampshire is the freeest state in the country, and has no income or sales tax, it is challenging to afford a place to live. This is due to high prices caused by limited supply & high demand. Property tax is also higher than average.

Many small unintentional communities have developed here, with families sharing their property with guests who can bring their own house. However, even these are at capacity!

This project will give us the potential to create a model community that we can showcase to the world.
