Twelve metropolitan Detroit artists, sculptors and artisans came together to create a unique and exciting Giant Nutcracker Soldiers garden. Each creation is at least twelve feet tall and made from repurposed, recycled and donated materials. Participating artists were given complete autonomy to create these pieces using their individual prowess.

These magnificent works of art were displayed at the 2024 Brightmoor Lights Holiday Festival in a garden built specifically for the cause. The works range from the traditional to the whimsical to the Avant Garde.

The organizer describes Dione Tripp's "Mamma Jwanna" as a compendium of styles to include, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Pablo Picaso, Keith Haring and Detroit artist Tyree Guyton. Her style conflates surrealism with graffiti art and a splash of cubism. In contrast, Christopher Columbus Gillam displays a style of traditional realism. All works turned out beautifully and I am so proud of this group, says Michael Williams.
