Why We Give: The Story Behind the Gala

Behind every healthcare leader is a moment someone believed in them.

For too many talented students, that moment never comes — not for lack of ability, but for lack of access. A scholarship that doesn't get funded. A mentor who was never in the room. A door that stayed closed because no one on the other side looked like them.

NAHSE Houston exists to change that.

We are a chapter built on a simple conviction: that the future of healthcare is stronger when its leadership reflects the communities it serves. And we don't just believe it — we build it. This year, our work earned back-to-back national recognition, named Percy Allen II Chapter of the Year and Program of the Year. But awards aren't the point. The point is what they represent: students mentored, professionals elevated, and doors pried open for people who were told to wait their turn.

Our Scholarship & Leadership Excellence Gala is where that mission comes to life. Every ticket, every table, every sponsorship becomes a scholarship for a student, a program for an emerging professional, a step forward for someone who will one day lead a hospital, shape a policy, or save a life.

When you give, you're not funding an event. You're funding a career that hasn't started yet — and a legacy that won't stop with one person.

Be the moment someone remembers. Join us on December 5.
