The Compass Experience

Guiding the Next Generation

Every young person deserves a chance to discover their potential.

For nearly 100 years, Scouting has helped young people throughout our region build character, develop leadership skills, serve their communities, and experience adventures that shape who they become. Through camping, community service, career exploration, outdoor experiences, and mentorship, Scouts learn lessons that last a lifetime.

Today, Scouting serves thousands of youth across South Dakota and surrounding communities. These young people are learning how to lead, overcome challenges, work together, and make a positive impact in the world around them.

But none of this happens without the support of caring individuals, businesses, and community leaders.

The Compass Experience was created to bring people together around a shared belief: that investing in young people is one of the most important investments we can make.

Formerly known as Wine Social, The Compass Experience honors the legacy of the past while charting a new course for the future. This unique evening will feature exceptional food, curated beverages, meaningful connections, and inspiring stories of impact—all centered around helping local youth discover their direction and purpose.

This year's Compass Experience is proudly led by our Lead Navigators (Hosts), Jeff Scherschligt, Founder & CEO of Pendar Properties, and Jim Enteman, Owner of Sense Hospitality, Nunzio's, Harvester Kitchen (HK) and Blackfork Farms. As respected business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community advocates, Jeff and Jim understand firsthand the value of leadership, character, service, and mentorship—the very qualities Scouting develops in young people every day. Their commitment to helping youth find their path and reach their full potential is at the heart of this event.

Your support helps provide:

• Leadership development programs

• Outdoor adventures and summer camp experiences

• Scholarships for youth with financial need

• Character and citizenship education

• Community service opportunities

• Mentorship and life-changing experiences

As community funding sources continue to change, the need for private support has never been greater. Every gift helps ensure that Scouting remains accessible to all youth, regardless of their circumstances.

Together, we can provide the experiences, mentors, and opportunities that help young people find their path, discover their purpose, and confidently navigate their future.

Thank you for joining Jeff, Jim, and countless other community leaders in helping guide the next generation.

Because every young person deserves a compass.
