Cherry Grove joins locations around the world on International Skinny Dip Day, a decentralized holiday that occurs every year on the second Saturday in July. This event is special to us because it provides a no-pressure opportunity to spend a liberating day at a clothing-optional beach, and to do so in wonderful company while supporting a great cause. It's rare to find something that brings so much joy to all of the participants and such meaningful aid to those in need.

Timing:
Starting at approximately 11am, we will be located near the entrance to the beach as you exit the boardwalk on either "Ocean Walk" or "Main Walk." Look for the Skinny Dip Day flag. There will be a group photo and skinny dip taking place at 2pm for those who wish to participate. -
Transportation:
*Important*: Cherry Grove is only accessible by ferry for non-residents. There is paid daily parking located at 50 River Road in Sayville, NY. You should familiarize yourself with the "Summer Schedule" for the Sayville Ferry Service and line up to purchase tickets at the Cherry Grove gate across the street from the aforementioned parking lot. -
Etiquette and Info for First-Timers:
The folks at SkinnyDipDay.org have compiled a list of helpful articles on what to expect during your first visit to a clothing optional beach. (Note: clothing is optional on the beach at Cherry Grove and no one will be pressured to be nude. This is an inclusive event and all bodies are welcome. Please feel free to dress or undress to your level of comfort without fear of judgment.)
- What do I bring?:
Please bring your own regular beach gear and supplies as you would for any day at the beach! Nearby restaurants, bars, and restrooms are plentiful, however, please be sure to be wearing something whenever you are not on the beach. Setup wherever you'd like when you arrive, but be sure to stop by and visit us at the flag! Commemorative giveaways (think wristbands and stickers) will be available while supplies last for all participants.
