As you may or may not know, Michigan used to be full of beautiful rolling prairies. Nowadays, only 5% of them remain. The largest and healthiest remaining prairie in Michigan is the Sibley Prairie, located an hour or so south of Detroit.

Prairies are greatly important for the natural environment for many reasons. They act as sanctuaries for dozens of endangered species in MIchigan, including the severely endangered Karner blue butterfly. Along with this, they also act as natural water filters and carbon sinks, cleaning the natural environment every second of the day.

So, now that the Michigan Land Conservancy has the chance to save this prairie from private development, we're doing all we can to help them get there! The Land Conservancy, along with other conservation organizations, need to raise $6 million by the end of 2026 in order to purchase this land, and every little bit helps. With your support, we're hoping to raise the very ambitious sum of $5,000!
