About the Bob Woodruff Foundation

In 2006, Bob Woodruff was wounded in Iraq reporting for ABC World News Tonight. Bobʼs recovery journey—from emergency surgery in Iraq to stabilization in Germany and then to Bethesda Naval Hospital—was alongside our nationʼs brave wounded service members. Inspired by the strength and resilience of military families, the Woodruff family vowed to help our nationʼs service members and veterans get the resources they need to thrive after service.

We recognize the challenges that veterans and service members face from reintegration into civilian life to managing the physical, emotional, or mental toll of service – a toll that can also affect family members.

Through collaboration with veteran service organizations nationwide, we implement targeted strategies that provide meaningful solutions. Our approach is rooted in empathy and understanding, ensuring we address these challenges with precision and care.

Our team is sensitive to the complex needs of veterans, and we have the expertise and resources to develop effective, lasting solutions. Every step we take is designed to foster sustainable change.

By focusing on practical, results-oriented solutions, we deliver a measurable return on investment—not only for veterans but for the broader community. We enable solutions that create real impact, supporting smoother transitions, improved well-being, and stronger connections across all areas of life.
