Founded in 1990 by Bonnie Brown and Saralyn Fountain, Stepping Stones is a private special-needs day school located in Griffin, Georgia. For more than 35 years, the school has remained steadfast in its mission: to provide high-quality educational and intervention services to children with special needs, with the goal of helping each child reach their fullest potential.

Located approximately one hour south of Atlanta, Stepping Stones serves students from six weeks of age through adolescence, drawing families from nine surrounding counties. The school offers two distinctive programs: a reverse-inclusion preschool and a private day school designed specifically for students with special needs. The reverse-inclusion preschool—unique in the region—brings together children of all abilities in a supportive learning environment that fosters empathy, inclusion, and early intervention. The Academy and Upper School serve neurodivergent and students with cognitive or physical impairments ages five and older, providing individualized instruction that supports both academic growth and life skills development.
