⭐ More on our SUP Impact Awardee, Richard Harding:

Richard Harding, a lifelong Cantibridgian, began his service as an intern at Joe Kennedy’s Citizens Energy, then as Director of Constituent Services for Senator Steven Tolman, worked with youth at Moses Youth Center (then Area 4 Youth Center), and is the former Chair of the Ward 2 Democratic Committee. Mr. Harding is a proven leader, serving on the School Committee as Vice-Chair, Budget Committee Chair, and Contract Negotiations co-Chair. Mr. Harding is the Manager of Community Engagement and BIPOC Men’s Health at the Cambridge Public Health Department and is a program consultant to the job training program, CambridgeWorks. A respected community activist, he is a founding member of the Port Action Group and continues his leadership as Vice-President of the Cambridge NAACP, helping to revive a chapter that had nearly shuttered. Mr. Harding has been instrumental in bringing into the organization women and young people, building their ability to advocate for and engage not only communities of color but all those who strive for justice. He is also past Exalted Ruler of the Massasoit Elks Lodge #129, lending his leadership to a broad set of issues facing the community, and is a small business owner in Cambridge. Richard is a graduate of Cambridge Public Schools and Fitchburg State College. Among his many accolades, Richard is proud to be a recipient of the NAACP Education Excellence Award and the Cambridge Peace and Justice Award.

Mignone Center for Career Success (MCS) has had a transformative impact on SUP for decades, supporting student stipends, training students in fundraising, and consistently showing up as a team in support of public service. A true model of partnership, MCS also empowers Harvard students and recent alumni to explore and achieve their career goals through advising, programs, resources, and employer connections. Serving individuals from their first year through five years post-graduation, MCS offers support across a wide range of fields, along with specialized guidance for graduate school, pre-health, and pre-law pathways.

⭐ More on our SUP EMCEE, Charlie Rose:

Charlie Rose has been a youth worker, organizer, and entrepreneur in Boston for 30 years. As a founding board and then staff member of City Year, Charlie has helped build the organization into a national model for youth community service organizations. In addition, Charlie was a founding board member of seven other organizations, including YouthBuild Boston, and served as Director of Youth Services for the City of Boston.

The Jorge Palmarín Rising Leader Award honors Jorge Palmarín, a beloved community leader and one of PBHA’s first Junior Counselors at Keylatch. Jorge dedicated his life to youth and community work in Boston’s South End, and his legacy continues to inspire future generations.

This award recognizes returning SUP Junior Counselors who demonstrate outstanding leadership and deep commitment to their communities.
