For the past 35 years, LGBT Life Center has been a cornerstone of support, empowerment, and advocacy for the LGBTQ+ and HIV communities in Hampton Roads. From our humble beginnings with Sister Mary Joan and a small group of volunteers to now over 60 full-time employees and 500+ active volunteers, we have great cause for celebration.

We are thrilled to invite you to be a part of our shared story by joining us at our 35th Anniversary Brunch Gala at the gorgeous Woman’s Club of Portsmouth on Sunday, September 22, 2024. Your support will help us highlight the remarkable strides and ambitious plans we have been cultivating—plans that community partners like you are an integral part of helping us accomplish.

This year, as we celebrate our 35th anniversary, we are about to open two new LGBTQ+ and HIV-affirming clinics and pharmacies, and for the first time in Hampton Roads history, an LGBTQ+ center on both sides of the water.

This accomplishment was secured through federal, state, and local advocacy, resulting in a $1.8 million congressional appropriation and $1.7 million in state and local funding. Our 35th year is more than just a celebration of our collective accomplishments; it serves as a powerful testament to the incredible impact that dedicated individuals can achieve when united by a common mission.
