Touchstone Farm, Inc. has operated in New Hampshire for close to fifty years, providing therapeutic and educational equine opportunities.

Our mission is to positively change lives through partnerships between horses and people of varying abilities, ages, and backgrounds.

By facilitating the development of relationships between horses, small farm animals, and people, TSF provides unique support to groups and individuals living with physical, cognitive, and/or emotional challenges. Our participants include military veterans, at-risk youth, and mentally and/or physically disabled youth and adults, among others. Programming includes horseback riding, carriage driving, groundwork, hiking with small animals, and other farm related activities. The impact our organization has on people's lives is best described by our participants and their families.

A few stories that remind us why our work is important:

The parent of an autistic child participant said, "oh my gosh! I was so overjoyed to see a smile come across his little face that it brought tears to my eyes! I hadn't seen him smile since he was a baby!"

A student with Cerebral Palsy was lifted from his wheelchair into the saddle and instantly relaxed. He held the reins in his hand and told his pony to "Walk on." As the horse and rider walked off, his mom said "despite his Cerebral Palsy, for him to be more relaxed is such a blessing!" The core strength and balance this participant developed from riding is helping to slow the disease's progression.

One of our program participants was asked by his principal "Last year you had over 90 days of absenteeism. This year you've been absent less than 10 days. What's the difference?" The student replied "The horses!!".

While our primary goal is to help our human participants, we realize that none of what we do is possible without our staff and horses, our most vital component. Our horses must be well cared for to keep them happy and healthy, maximizing their impact on the lives of our human participants. The negative impacts of COVID are still a harsh reality for our four-legged heroes.

Although participation in our lesson and therapeutic programming steadily increases, our organization is still working to combat our COVID deficit. Just as you are feeling the impact of higher prices for everything, we are coping with increased prices for hay, grain, veterinary care, and all things associated with providing our horses the stellar care that they deserve.
