The Ubuntu Leadership Summit is a collaboration of community leaders, activists, educators, and change-makers coming together to address the pressing issues and challenges facing our community in central Iowa. It will be held on Friday, August 23 9am-8pm at the Genesis Youth Learning Center on the 5th Floor of the Hope + Elim Church at 2500 University Ave, Des Moines, IA 50311. Discussion topics: Youth empowerment, Community development, Education equity, Social justice, Health & wellness, and more. Interactive Workshops: Participate in hands-on training and workshops designed to equip you with the knowledge, resources, and inspiration to drive meaningful impact in central Iowa. Networking Opportunities: Connect with like-minded individuals, build new relationships, and share ideas for creating positive change. Inspiring Speakers: Hear from expert speakers and community leaders who will share their experiences, and visions aimed at fostering collaboration, innovation, and sustainable solutions.
The I Am Africa Gala serves as a platform to showcase the rich diversity and heritage of Africa while raising vital funds to support Genesis Youth Foundation's mission of empowering youth and fostering positive social change. The Gala will be held on Saturday, August 24 at Grand View University at 2811 E. 14 Street, Des Moines, IA 50316 from 6 pm to midnight. From silent auctions to inspiring keynote speeches, attendees will have the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of young people and contribute to building a brighter future for generations to come.
