On Thursday, March 27, 2025, the Urban League of Springfield’s Anniversary Celebration shined a spotlight on the people who embody our mission of empowerment and equity. This year’s theme, Rise Up, reflects both our 112-year legacy and the ongoing work to create opportunities for growth, justice, and community strength in Greater Springfield.

At the heart of the evening, we honored our Community Builder Awardees, extraordinary individuals and organizations who exemplify the values of the Urban League. From fostering education and economic self-sufficiency to advancing social justice, their stories are living testaments to the transformative impact of our programs.

Meet Our Keynote Speaker: Danielle R. Holley

We were honored to have Danielle R. Holley, the dynamic 20th president of Mount Holyoke College, as our keynote speaker. A distinguished legal scholar and passionate educator, President Holley is deeply committed to civil rights and educational equity. Her leadership at Mount Holyoke and her expertise in advancing justice and inclusivity in education make her an exemplary fit for this year's Rise Up theme. Her presence certainly enriched our dialogue on empowerment and equity as we celebrate the transformative impact of our community builders.

The event featured live entertainment, a cocktail reception, a gourmet dinner, and a dynamic fundraising appeal, all set in the stunning MassMutual Center Ballroom.
