WHO WE ARE:

Widows Empowered Strengthened & I INC. is a non-profit 501c3 organization whose ultimate purpose is to empower, strengthen and educate women, particularly widows, during and after challenging, life-altering times and occurrences in their lives. W.E.S. & I works to strengthen and empower widows through support, training, and education.

We partner with financial, legal, housing and community organizations that offer assistance to widows who need services and support in these areas.

Why there is a need for this organization:

Household income in 2020, 31% of older women were widows. The median income of older persons was $27,398; $36,921 for men and $21,815 for women.

Statistics Show: There are 13,160 widowed in the city of Toledo. of those 13,160, 10,035 are women (only 3,125 are men). There are 603,317 widowed in the state of Ohio. of those 603,317 widowed, 461,937 are women.

There are 15,230,473 widowed in the United States. of the widowed, 11,821,660 in the US are women - Source: U.S. Census Bureau, 2020 American Community Survey.
