Three Things was born out of a deep belief in the power of art, music, and storytelling to transform lives. Founded by Brittany Ballard, a storyteller and filmmaker, and Saxon Kincy, a musician and educator, our organization was created to bring healing, hope, and connection to individuals and communities that need it most.

The idea for Three Things began with a simple yet profound realization: stories matter. Whether they’re shared by an elder reflecting on their life, a teen writing their dreams into a song, or someone stepping up to a microphone to share a message they never sent, these stories have the power to heal wounds, bridge divides, and inspire change.

Through our life review programs, we create a compassionate space for older adults to reflect on their lives and share their stories. These sessions not only preserve legacies but also help participants find meaning, connection, and healing in their memories. As we listen to their challenges, joys, and triumphs, we are reminded that their wisdom is timeless, offering invaluable insights to younger generations and ensuring their stories live on for years to come.

With Healing Futures, we empower youth—particularly those facing systemic challenges—to envision and build brighter futures. Through songwriting, goal-setting, and creative exploration, young people learn to express themselves in healthy ways while developing confidence and vision. The program challenges negative narratives, encouraging participants to dream bigger, live longer, and believe in their potential. By fostering creativity and resilience, we help youth reimagine the possibilities for their lives.

Unsent brings people of all ages together through the art of storytelling. What began as a live event where participants share messages they never sent has grown into a national experience that blends laughter, tears, and catharsis. Unsent creates a unique sense of community, offering space to let go of what’s been held onto and embrace vulnerability. Through live shows, workshops, and our podcast, we create moments that remind us of our shared humanity, connecting people through the power of unspoken words.

What we’ve come to realize is that these programs are deeply connected. As we listen to older adults’ life reviews, we hear challenges and solutions that still resonate today—lessons that help us teach youth to navigate similar struggles. We are learning from our elders and serving as conduits to pass their wisdom to younger generations. Similarly, Unsent bridges these experiences, offering a platform for all ages to share, heal, and connect.

At Three Things, our work is rooted in connection—connecting generations, connecting individuals to their creativity, and connecting communities through shared stories. By honoring the past, nurturing the present, and empowering the future, we aim to make a lasting impact.
