What Does Sound Look Like?

For one night in Chelsea, sound becomes something you can see.

On September 16, 2026, two-time Grammy Award-winning drummer and composer Will Calhoun and digital artist Charles Kliment come together at White Space Studio for an intimate 270-degree immersive art and music experience—all in support of expanding access to safe water through proven, sustainable solutions.

This isn’t a traditional concert. And it isn’t a traditional gallery opening.

As Calhoun performs live, projected imagery surrounds the room, creating a visual world shaped by rhythm, movement, and sound. Original physical and digital works by Calhoun will also be presented, with select pieces available by auction.

You won’t simply watch the performance. You’ll be inside it.

The Evening

Guests will arrive for cocktails, art, and conversation before Safe Water Network CEO Christopher Williams welcomes the room. A short film will bring guests closer to the communities and work behind the evening’s purpose.

Then Calhoun takes the stage.

Kliment’s digital imagery unfolds around the audience as Calhoun performs, bringing another dimension to the music and creating an experience unique to that night.

Will Calhoun

Best known as the drummer of the groundbreaking rock band Living Colour, Calhoun is a two-time Grammy Award winner for Best Hard Rock Performance and a graduate of Berklee College of Music.

Over more than three decades, he has recorded and toured with artists including B.B. King, Mick Jagger, Wayne Shorter, and Lauryn Hill.

His relationship with rhythm extends far beyond the stage. For decades, Calhoun has studied musical and cultural traditions around the world, including extensive time in Mali, as well as Senegal, Morocco, Brazil, and Australia. That exploration of rhythm, culture, and connection informs both his music and his visual art.

Calhoun and Kliment also share a connection through The Way of the Rain, an environmental arts nonprofit that uses music, film, and performance to explore humanity’s relationship with water and the Earth. Kliment, principal of Kaja Circle, brings a background in architecture and digital design to the collaboration.
