Edson Buddle grew up playing soccer at Columbus Park in Port Chester. It’s where he practiced his dribbling, his shots, his skills. He ultimately became a professional player, one of only eleven players in Major League Soccer to score 100+ goals, and he had the honor of representing the United States of America at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Edson is now looking to give back to Port Chester and pave the path for the USA’s next striker.

Here's our challenge: We need to raise $30,000 by June 30, 2023, if we want to try to install the goals in time for the Village of Port Chester to resurface the court ahead of the 30th Annual Unity Day.

For 29 years, Port Chester, New York has celebrated Unity Day on the second weekend in August. Hundreds of current and former residents reunite at Columbus Park to enjoy good food, entertainment as well as basketball games… and in 2022, for the first time ever: street soccer games! After overwhelming support for converting the basketball court into a multi-sport court, we are now seeking to install permanent subterranean goals (Goalphers) so that the court is always available to be used for soccer.

Providing a multipurpose play area through the installation of Goalpher will help us provide more opportunity to our residents of all ages.
