Housing Justice Includes Pets

HEART works at the intersection of housing justice and animal welfare by preventing evictions and reducing shelter intakes.

Families experiencing housing insecurity are often forced to choose between keeping their home or keeping their pet. Pet-related evictions and surrenders are preventable but only with timely support. HEART intervenes before a crisis becomes an eviction or shelter intake by providing legal advocacy, housing navigation, emergency pet support, and partnerships with animal welfare organizations.
