On October 12, 2024, our kiteboarding community suffered an unimaginable loss. Our dear friend, Eli Winslow, tragically passed away in a kiteboarding accident at First Encounter Beach in Eastham, Massachusetts.

At just 29 years old, Eli was a beloved presence on the water and a true fixture in our community. His love for the ocean began long before kiteboarding. He spent countless hours fishing with his Papa, dad, brother, and friends, rowed with the Cape Cod Youth Rowing program throughout high school, and later returned as a coach to inspire the next generation.

To honor Eli’s memory and carry forward his passion for helping others discover the water, his family and close friends founded the Cape Cod Water Sports Academy (CCWSA).

Join us at Windfest 2026 as we celebrate Eli’s life and raise funds to expand opportunities for Cape Cod youth. Every dollar raised helps provide scholarships, equipment, instruction, and life-changing experiences in water sports—ensuring that Eli’s spirit continues to inspire future generations.

Because of the incredible generosity of our supporters, 2026 has already been a remarkable year:

Launched the Cape Cod Water Sports Academy Youth Program, providing 10 weeks of free Tuesday evening instruction in winging, stand-up paddleboarding, and introductory kiteboarding.
Donated $15,000 to the Cape Cod Community Rowing Youth Program, with an additional $5,000 in matching funds available.
Contributed $7,500 to Friends of Dennis Recreation to help local families access summer camps, swimming lessons, and sailing programs.

Your support of Windfest 2026 allows us to continue growing these programs, removing financial barriers, and sharing the joy, confidence, and lifelong friendships that come from being on the water.

Together, we can honor Eli’s legacy by helping the next generation discover a lifelong love of the water.
