On Sunday, May 4th, from 5 to 8 p.m., we’ll be setting sail for this year’s Spring Benefit: a three-hour cruise around the stunning San Francisco Bay. Enjoy front-row views of iconic San Francisco Bay sights aboard the Fumé Blanc, a luxe replica of a New York State Hudson River Steamboat, all while supporting the students who make this school so remarkable.

Throughout the evening, you’ll enjoy a buffet dinner, good company, live music, and a brief but meaningful program—including a speaker and a short live auction. And, of course, there will be plenty of time to take in the views: the Golden Gate bridge, Alcatraz, and Pier 39, all capped off by a sunset over the Bay— with a drink in hand.

At WSP, we believe that education is an adventure—one that engages the head, heart, and hands. This event is a celebration of that spirit, and of the vibrant, committed community that makes it possible.

SET SAIL FOR WSP!
We’re trading our usual Saturday night Benefit for something unforgettable—a sunset cruise on the San Francisco Bay. We’ll board one of the Luxe Cruises luxury cruise vessels. Not just your average yacht, the "Fumé Blanc Commodore" is a Replica of a New York State Hudson River Steamboat, featuring 3 decks, a full dining and dancing floor, and plenty of indoor and outdoor options to catch the views and sea breeze.

Our journey will begin in Alameda and take us past all the SF Bay landmarks: from McCovey Cove under the Bay Bridge to the San Francisco Ferry Building, then along the Embarcadero to view the sea lions at Pier 39, past Fisherman’s Wharf, out to the Golden Gate Bridge, around Alcatraz, and along Treasure Island.

FOOD & DRINK 
We’ll enjoy a delicious dinner carefully prepared by our hosts at Luxe Cruises around tables of 6 (because: when was the last time you had a chance to meet and chat with a fellow parent over dinner?). Tickets include dinner, wine, beer, champagne, and dessert. There’ll be a cash bar on the top deck for those who prefer a cocktail. Vegan, vegetarian, keto, and gluten-free options are available. Please make sure to note your preference when rsvp’ing.

LIVE MUSIC & DANCING 
Back by popular demand! Enjoy live music by father-daughter duo Ruksana Varma (WSP Alum and current Music Faculty member) and Rajeev Kelkar (WSP Alum parent). And yes, there’s a dance floor and a playlist!

WHAT TO WEAR
Dress to impress, but keep it effortless and boat-friendly! Is nautical chic a thing? Let's make it so! Think cocktail attire with a coastal twist—spring dresses, linen or lightweight suits, and smart shoes (leave the stilettos at home!). Bring a layer for the evening breeze as we set sail for a late afternoon of celebration and giving.

A NOTE ON TICKETS
“First Mate” (early bird) tickets are discounted below the actual per-person cost--a little thank-you for booking early. General admission covers the full cost of the event. If the cost of the ticket is prohibitive, please let us know by reaching out to events@waldorfpeninsula.org. Many thanks to those of you who sponsor tickets for others!

HOW WILL THIS EVENT RAISE FUNDS FOR WSP?
Here’s how the fundraising portion works: in the weeks leading up to the event, we’ll be launching our Spring Fund-a-Need campaigns, which directly fund vital programs and initiatives for the school. Our goal is to achieve these fundraising milestones as much as possible before we set sail, so while we’re on board, we can simply relax, celebrate, and enjoy the fruits of our collective generosity. This year’s Fund-a-Need focus areas are: Tuition Adjustment, Student Sports and Leadership, and Professional Development.
