NAWA is thrilled to announce the launch of The Bottle Project Online Auction Fundraiser, an exclusive project by the National Association of Women Artists (NAWA) Signature Members. This unique initiative, in collaboration with AMERICAN WOMAN SPIRIT Company, is designed to repurpose distinctive woman-shaped bottles into extraordinary works of art.

Participating signature artists from NAWA have been invited to transform these bottles into personal art expressions, highlighting their creativity while fostering a spirit of sustainability. This project serves as a platform to showcase artistic talent and promote environmental consciousness.

The culmination of this project will be an online auction in July, where these one-of-a-kind art pieces will be available for bidding. As NAWA is celebrating 135 years of its history, opening bids will be $135. 75% of proceeds from the auction will contribute to NAWA’s scholarship fundraising efforts, furthering our commitment to education and community support.

This fundraiser will benefit a graduate student in art or art history in the form of an unrestricted scholarship. This means the student may use the funds for tuition, art supplies, books or any financial need. The recipient will be determined by NAWA.

American Woman Spirit Company is majority women-owned and continues to develop their give-back to women in the arts, entrepreneurship and need. In honor of the American Woman, our bottle celebrates and empowers women through bottle sales. One percent and growing of all revenues goes directly back to women-led causes. Currently, AWS gives proceeds to the National Association of Women Artists and to the Cleft Lip and Palate Missions.

NAWA, The National Association of Women Artists was established in 1889 by five women artists in New York City. At the time of its founding, it was the first women’s art organization in this country. Its mission was and continues to be, to raise public awareness and interest in the visual fine art created by women in the United States.

NAWA provides exhibition opportunities throughout the year and throughout the country for its members and promotes culture through events, education, scholarships & awards. The NAWA Catalog is archived in over 10 high-profile institutions, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, The Library of Congress, and more. In addition, The Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey holds a permanent collection of NAWA art.
