Why are we fundraising?

Full Circle Healing:

Full Circle Healing is a family-run, community-focused farm, healing center, and apothecary. Martice and Amy Scales are dedicated to cultivating a community where everyone has access to fresh food and the healing of mind, body, and spirit. They are committed to food justice, racial justice, land stewardship, and ensuring that everyone has a seat at the table.

After years of renting farmland, Full Circle Healing is ready for a permanent home – a place to support new farmers, grow healthy food, offer healing services, and host community events. Martice and Amy have big plans for this future space.

Their vision is to do the following:

Expand staff and food production to donate 75% of the food produced
Operate a small-scale regenerative farm to remediate conventional farmland and protect it forever
Create a collectively-stewarded incubator farm designed to educate aspiring regenerative farmers
Establish a healing center offering free and reduced-cost services, along with a farm store and licensed kitchen to support both Full Circle Healing and its incubator farmers

Milwaukee Food Council:

Milwaukee Food Council is a network of community members and organizations, professionals, and government officials committed to supporting a food system that is community-driven, healthy, environmentally sustainable, and economically vibrant.

Our mission is to support a locally-anchored food system that advances Milwaukee’s social, economic, and environmental well-being through collective action.

We aim to connect ongoing food systems efforts, leverage our collective strengths, and create equitable and sustainable change collaboratively.

In 2024, the Milwaukee Food Council hosted summits, networking events, and workshops to facilitate dialogue and promote collaboration among stakeholders of food systems. These initiatives are essential for connecting organizations and individuals to foster a unified approach to food systems transformation.

We are currently raising funds to build capacity, expand our initiatives, and engage a broader segment of the community in our collective action efforts. Together, we can create a vibrant and equitable food landscape for Milwaukee.
