Since 1947, Youth of the Year has been Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio’s premier recognition program—honoring remarkable young people for their leadership, academic achievement, and service to others. Every finalist represents a story of resilience, courage, and limitless potential.

In 2026, we celebrate a season of growth, hope, and transformation at our annual Youth of the Year Gala with the theme Blooming Bright Futures. Join us for an inspiring evening dedicated to the youth who are blooming into tomorrow’s leaders and the supporters who help them thrive. Proceeds directly support the Character & Leadership programs of Boys & Girls Clubs of San Antonio

SPECIAL GUESTS & HONOREES

Emcee Matt Bonner (aka the Red Rocket and aka the Red Mamba) will be our emcee. Not only is Matt a former Spurs player; he is a proud Club Kid in the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Hall of Fame. After 10 seasons with the Spurs, Matt is now a TV/Radio Analyst with the Toronto Raptors.

Youth of the Year Finalists Nine Club Kids are part of the Youth of the Year leadership development program. The group began meeting weekly in early September. Semifinals will take place in December to determine who will move on to compete for San Antonio 2026 Youth of the Year. The finalists will share their stories at the Youth of the Year Gala.

Honorees We proudly honor Paul and the late Nicole Hensley for their incredible dedication to our mission. Paul, a former board president and current board member, continues to be a passionate advocate for Club Kids. Nicole is remembered with deep admiration for her lifetime of service and love for BGCSA.
