Our fundraiser starts on Monday, April 22nd thru Saturday, April 27th. This year marks 5 years of Kylie’s initial diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She is currently cancer free and has been since October 27, 2020.

After being diagnosed with AML, Kylie had to stay in the hospital for five rounds of chemotherapy treatment, each lasting about one month, then she came home for about two weeks in between each round. During those long stays in the hospital, Kylie and our family were welcome to use a shared kitchenette area that was stocked with snacks, treats, and other goodies from the Pinky Swear Foundation. These little surprises meant a lot to Kylie and us as it would be a break from the hospital food and give us a taste of something different. Pinky Swear would restock these shelves for families like us and patients like Kylie every two weeks.

While Kylie was in the hospital, David and Lisa also had reduced hours at work, resulting in reduced income. Pinky Swear Foundation gifted funds to help pay the mortgage and utility bills. And after Kylie was cancer free, and had finished with treatment, Pinky Swear blessed us with an All-Star Weekend in February 2020 where they paid for us to have a fun long weekend at a hotel near Mall of America. When our family had to be apart for so long, it was nice to have a chance to be together, forget about it all, and just have fun.

This is our chance to give back to a wonderful organization, Pinky Swear Foundation, that helps families with children fighting cancer when they need it most - right now.

We are hosting an in-person event on:

Saturday, April 27th, 2024
@2:00pm-4:00pm
at the Andover Community Center
Door 13, Court 4

At this event, there will be many ways to give back to Pinky Swear Foundation including:

1. Bringing food items that will help families in the hospital OR donate to the Pinky Swear pantry directly through Amazon Smile. All items will go to Children’s Hospital-Minneapolis;

2. Donate money to the Pinky Swear Foundation - where they will help a family in need whether it’s a mortgage payment, utilities, gas, food, or even an All-Star weekend. Please look below for ideas of amounts and where it goes towards;

3. Write an inspiring card/note to a child with cancer while they are in the hospital. All materials will be provided; OR

4. Bid on silent auction items, through Givebutter, all donated by local businesses, family, and friends.

**Bottled water will be provided. Unfortunately, there is no food allowed in the gym space, so please come fed.

**There will be a volleyball court up to play on and music for the kids to dance (music playlist provided by Kylie & Keira).

Just like last year, we will be having an online silent auction through GiveButter with many different items from generous local businesses. More info to come on specific items and about the app.

We can’t wait to see all of you! We appreciate all donations and excited to give back to Pinky Swear Foundation again this year.

We hope and pray to raise $6,000 for Pinky Swear Foundation this year and collect over 200 lbs of food.

*Food items: only hard requirements are individually wrapped and in individual portions, not expired, and if you need a bowl (like Mac and cheese or oatmeal), that it is packaged in a bowl.

You can also donate directly from Amazon and the items will go right to the Pinky Swear Pantry in Edina, MN where they will distribute the food items to Children’s- Minneapolis and U of M Children’s Masonic.
