The Civic Center Building is a historic treasure that has a rich history of being a center of African American culture and community in Spring Lake. Thanks to generous grants, much of the building’s restoration is complete, with just a few finishing touches remaining. Now, we’re turning our focus to the grounds surrounding the building—an essential part of the center’s revival that will make it fully functional and accessible. The SFHA has set a goal of raising $150,000 to finish this critical outdoor sitework, including work such as replacing sewer lines, grading for drainage, parking improvements, and ensuring accessibility for all.

To achieve this, we need you to get your team together and join us and maximize our impact. Your participation will help preserve the work and the history of the ancestors and their commitment to our futures.
