As part of the 7 Directions of Service YESA Farm Fundraiser, we invite you to explore and bid on a unique collection of handcrafted goods, cultural items, wellness experiences, and community-donated services—all lovingly offered by our extended circle of supporters, artists, and farmers.

YESA means “the People” in the Siouan Tutelo language. It is a name that holds memory, resilience, and purpose. At YESA Farm, we reclaim land, traditions, and teachings that were nearly erased—but not forgotten.

Our story begins with land that has been in our family for over 200 years in what is now Alamance County, North Carolina. This land has nourished generations, and today, it is home to the Yesá Nédéwahe Saponi-Tutelo Indigenous Community Gardens—a living, breathing space of healing, teaching, and growing.

From just four directional garden beds, we’ve grown to 13 raised beds, stewarded by youth, elders, and community members. We grow the Three Sisters—corn, beans, and squash—and their often-forgotten sibling, the sunflower. Following our ancestors' teachings and the land's natural cycles, we tend to berries, herbs, and traditional medicines.

YESA is more than a farm—it is a movement rooted in sovereignty, food justice, and cultural rematriation. It is a space where Black, Indigenous, and communities of color reconnect to the land with dignity, ceremony, and purpose.

We follow the model we gifted by Braiding the Sacred, centering our youth and elders, and creating pathways to reconnect with traditional ecological knowledge (TEK), seed-keeping, and Indigenous farming systems. We have expanded our reach to include land in Halifax, Virginia, growing a network of sacred spaces across our ancestral territories.

YESA Farm is a program of 7 Directions of Service, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to revitalizing Indigenous lifeways and leadership.
