Great Books for Kids is honored to have the support of Karolyn Grimes, the actress who portrayed Zuzu Bailey in the movie It's a Wonderful Life! A mutual friend told Ms. Grimes about the good work Great Books for Kids is doing to put books into the hands and homes of children in need. She expressed her support by sending us autographed items to auction off to help us raise much-needed funds!

Autographed items in the auction include: an It's a Wonderful Life ornament, 2 hardcover copies of her children's book Zuzu's Petals, and a hardcover copy of her cookbook, Zuzu Bailey's "It's a Wonderful Life" Cookbook!

The auction will begin today and will end on Tuesday, December 17 at 9pm. Each item will be shipped out on the business day following the day payment & mailing address is received from the winner.

100% of the funds raised will be used to purchase engaging books for children in Glynn County for their homes.

We were recently notified that the grant opportunity we utilize each year to provide 400 children in Glynn County in southeast Georgia with new books was postponed until AFTER the school year is over in the spring. That would mean we would not be able to serve children in Glynn County this school year!

Funds from this auction and monetary donations made through our website will go toward our fundraising goal of $4000, which will enable us to move forward with serving these children as planned during January through April of this school year.
