The Albany Aquatics Association is a year-round competitive swimming program that fosters the growth and development of young people by promoting valuable life-long skills. Through the sport of swimming we hope to encourage ideals such as honesty, integrity, good sportsmanship, hard work, self-discipline and self-esteem.

Let's Make Every Lap Count!

Help us celebrate the return of our annual Otterthon—a fun and meaningful fundraising event where Otters of all ages and skill levels come together to support Albany Aquatics! Swimmers collect pledges from friends, family, and community members, then swim as many laps as they can within a set time limit. Every lap supports vital team needs like programming, equipment, and travel—keeping swimming accessible for our entire community.

Funds go toward essential team expenses such as:

Coach expenses and training resources
Equipment (e.g. practice gear, lane lines, training aids)
Facility rental / pool time
Team events, travel, meets
Scholarships or financial aid for swimmers in need

How does supporting the Otterthon help swimmers grow (beyond the financial)?

Encourages goal setting, perseverance, and accountability
Builds community support and pride
Reinforces teamwork (swimmers encourage one another)
Gives swimmers ownership in helping sustain their program
Provides visibility for the club in the larger community

Our Otters will be recognized for their hard work! There will be special prizes for swimmers that raise the most funds, swim the most laps, and for the winning group (Fundamental/Novice, Junior/Senior) that brings in the highest total donations. On this site, you can track your swimmer’s progress—and their group’s—toward their donation goal!

Supporting USA Swimming
Albany Aquatics is proud to support USA Swimming through our participation in the national Swim-a-thon® program. A portion of our total proceeds — 5% of all funds raised — goes directly to the USA Swimming Foundation, which helps provide opportunities, safety programs, and resources that grow the sport nationwide. By swimming and fundraising in Otterthon, our athletes are part of something even bigger — supporting swimmers and teams across the country.
