We’d like to welcome you with a message from Rachel Larsen, Chairman of The Board of Directors of Curtain Up Cancer Foundation:

I am so excited to hear you will be participating in our next Cancer Chronicles Retreat! Regardless of your experience with cancer, it has left its indelible mark on you. It’s amazing to me that every story, no matter how extraordinary or seemingly ordinary the circumstances may appear, has had a profound effect on the storyteller and the listener. I look forward to you finding your voice and discovering what aspect of your story is important to you.

During the writing portion of the workshop, you will have the opportunity to explore the impact of cancer on your life in a safe and encouraging environment. During the celebratory reading, you will share your story with fellow participants and guests. You will also be inspired by live vocal music that complements each of your stories. This is an intimate and supportive day, open only to participants, family, and friends.

If you have never done anything like this before, let me assure you that it is a very worthwhile exercise in self-discovery and can be very healing. I know that for some, this deeply personal process can be daunting and the fear of telling your story can sometimes be overwhelming. To help you get comfortable with the process, we will be reaching out to you with emails from your instructor, Amy Gilmour.
