This week is Adolescent & Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Awareness Week—a time to recognize the unique challenges faced by those diagnosed with cancer in their teens, 20s, and 30s.

A cancer diagnosis at this stage of life can be especially isolating. It disrupts school, careers, relationships, and everyday milestones. In the middle of that uncertainty, even small moments of comfort can make a meaningful difference.

That’s why I started Kits to Heart (@kitstoheart).

Each cancer care kit is thoughtfully designed to provide both practical support and a sense of calm—whether it’s something soft to hold during treatment that reminds patients of love and care, nourishing essentials, or healing art workshops to offer a safe space and moment of escape and expression.
