Candlelight Sound Journey

Journey Through the Chakana

The Chakana is an ancient Andean symbol representing the connection between three realms—the Lower World, the Middle World, and the Upper World.

First introduced to me during my yoga teacher training, the teachings of the Chakana have remained a meaningful part of my practice. For this special evening, I’ll offer my own interpretation of a journey through the three worlds using sound.

The lower world is connected to what lies beneath the surface—our roots, the unseen, and the deeper parts of ourselves. The middle world is the world we inhabit—our present experience, relationships, and everyday life. The upper world is associated with the celestial realm, expanded awareness, and connection to something beyond ourselves.

Crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, gong, drums, rattles, chimes, and other world instruments will weave together through frequency, vibration, sound, and silence to guide your journey through the three worlds.

This is an invitation to rest and receive. There is nothing you need to do or achieve. Simply get comfortable and allow yourself to be held by sound.

Hosted by Anam Cara Counseling and facilitated by Kira Hyatt of Nourished Spirit. www.nourishedspirit.org This offering is my personal sound-based interpretation of the Chakana, inspired by teachings that have been meaningful throughout my own spiritual practice and training.

Anam Cara translated from Gaelic literally means “Soul Friend.” In the Celtic tradition, an Anam Cara is a teacher, companion or spiritual guide. With an Anam Cara, a person can share his or her innermost self without fear or judgement. In this relationship, you are truly understood without mask or pretention. At Anam Cara, the horses are our Anam Caras, our soul friends. They help us heal and bring us home to our authentic selves.
