Come join Neurodiversity Support for Children board members in an An Inclusive Activity & Health Fair for Neurodivergent Kids & Their Families, Carnival Time for Every Mind! This event will bring together children and families for an opportunity to play, run, and engage with other families in a fun, end-of-summer "carnival-like" atmosphere. Families will learn about NSC and other resources in the local community. Games, activities, snacks, & more!

We want every child and family to feel welcome. Our community includes autistic and ADHD kids, as well as children with developmental delays, genetic disorders, epilepsy, dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, anxiety, OCD, tic disorders, depression, and other emotional, behavioral, learning, developmental, or neurological differences. We know that every child experiences the world differently, so we have planned the carnival with different needs, interests, and comfort levels in mind.

Activities for different brains and bodies: Kids can participate as much or as little as they would like. They can move between activities, take a break, watch before joining in, return to a favorite activity, or skip something altogether. There is no “right” way to enjoy the carnival.

Visual supports: Each activity station will have a visual sign so kids can more easily see what to expect. Families will also receive a visual map showing the different activities throughout the park. Kids can use the map to help decide what sounds fun or what their brain and body might need at that moment.

Sensory support and quiet space: A designated quiet area will be available for anyone who needs some time away from the noise, activity, or stimulation. We will also have sensory-friendly activities and opportunities for different kinds of play and movement.

Physical accessibility: designated accessible parking and accessible features. We will arrange our activities with accessibility and ease of participation in mind whenever possible.

Resources for kids AND their grown-ups: Local organizations that work with neurodivergent children and families will be joining us to share information, resources, and opportunities for connection. We will also have local vendors focused on parent and caregiver wellness and self-care—because the people caring for kids deserve some care, too.

Families are always welcome to bring whatever personal supports help their child feel comfortable and successful. If your child or family member needs a specific accommodation, please reach out to us before the event and we will do our best to help.

Most importantly, this is a day for kids and families to have fun, connect with their community, and be themselves.
