Cast & Connect is Lucky & Blessed Fishing’s afterschool program helping middle and high school students spend more meaningful time outdoors while building confidence, friendships, and new skills.

Through fishing, positive mentorship, outdoor wellness, and hands-on environmental education, students step away from screens and connect with each other, supportive mentors, nature, and Maryland’s waterways.

Why Cast & Connect?

Fishing is the starting point for experiences that go much further. Students learn about the waterways they’re fishing, discover how their actions impact the Chesapeake Bay, develop new skills, build relationships, and find positive ways to spend their time outdoors.

Become a Cast & Connect Sponsor

Community support helps LABF provide Cast & Connect at no cost to participating students and expand the program into Spring 2027 and beyond.

Sponsorship can help provide:

Fishing rods, tackle and equipment
PFDs and safety gear
Environmental and water-quality education supplies
Meals, snacks and water
Program materials and student gear
Transportation and access to outdoor locations
Mentoring and hands-on outdoor experiences

Sponsorship Opportunities

$100 – Student Gear Sponsor (provides CAC hat, tee & sweatshirt for one student)
Helps provide one student with equipment, supplies and program experiences.

$250 – Student Sponsor
Helps provide one student with equipment, supplies and program experiences.

$500 – Cast & Connect Supporter
Supports fishing, environmental education and safety supplies for the program.

$1,000 – Community Sponsor
Helps fund a complete Cast & Connect experience while supporting equipment and educational activities.

$2,500 – Program Partner
Provides significant support toward an eight-week program cycle and receives enhanced LABF recognition.

$5,000+ – Presenting/Impact Partner
Major investment in the growth of Cast & Connect, with prominent recognition and opportunities for employee involvement and program-day participation.
