As you probably know if you are reading this, my name is Molly Hodgdon and I am the person behind Cats of Yore. Cats are not just a social media gimmick for me, I have a deep love for them going back to my earliest memories. My collection of vintage cat photos was inspired by my affection for these amazing animals and my fascination with humankind's shared history with them.

But my love of cats is not limited to dusty old collectibles! I adore my own two cats, Fergus and Francie, and have done a lot of work for our local rescue, the Humane Society of Chittenden County. Fergus and Francie are both rescues and have a virus called FIV, so it's very important to me to support organizations like HSCC that take in FIV+ cats and educate the public about how FIV is a manageable virus - NOT a death sentence.

I visit HSCC weekly to take photos of their adoptable cats, so I've seen firsthand the dedication and compassion of all the staff there. Every single cat is treated with incredible enthusiasm, warmth, and individualized care. I should also mention HSCC is not just cats! They welcome dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, chinchillas, and other "smallies", too. It's a clean, bright, happy facility full of wonderful people and animals. They don't just house and adopt out animals, though. They also operate a low-cost vet clinic, low-cost spay/neuter services and TNR, a Good Neighbor program that provides temporary housing and care to the pets of people facing sudden homelessness or domestic violence, a Rainy Day fund to help local low-income residents with unexpected surgical costs, and more!

My birthday is June 27th and all I want is to raise some funds for this organization that does such outstanding work in our community. I hope you will consider donating if you can! Every little bit helps, truly. ❤️
