The Cavalier Ambulance Service (CAS) has proudly served the residents of Pembina County for almost 60 years. CAS responded to 484 ambulance calls in 2025 and is the only Advanced Life Support Service in Pembina County.

CAS would like to thank our community for their generosity in helping CAS with our many equipment needs in the past. Last year, we fundraised for a new LUCAS Hands-free CPR device and with your contributions throughout the year, we were able to purchase one new LUCAS and about half of the funds to go towards a second. This year, we are putting all our focus and effort into the most important equipment we own, and that's our trucks. Cavalier Ambulance operates with three rigs, ready to go at any time. Currently, one of our rigs is in Rock Rapids, Iowa being remounted. A remount is when they take the patient compartment off the current chassis and mount it onto a new one. That rig had over 100,000 miles and was only a 2021 chassis. While this rig is being remounted, we were given a loaner for the time being, so that we can still operate with three trucks. Recently, the other two trucks were having issues with the heat in the patient compartments. This left us with only our loaner available for calls. Thankfully, a technician from Fergus Falls came to us and got both rigs working again very quickly. We rarely use all three rigs at one time, but it has happened. Cavalier Ambulance averages 500 calls a year, this includes 911 calls, intercepts with Walhalla, Pembina and Drayton Ambulance to provide Advanced Life Support and transfers from PCMH to higher level of care facilities, typically Grand Forks and Fargo. With about half of these calls being transfers, we rack up the mileage quite quickly...and the wear and tear!

With the money raised this year, we are going to put those funds towards these mechanical repairs, our remount project and future repairs that arise. CAS would like to thank you for your donation and hope that you as a business/individual see the importance of our project.
