We know that cities with a strong cultural identity are safer, healthier, and more welcoming–which is why CapitalBop has spent the past 15 years supporting the musicians who bring our city to life.

But right now, ongoing occupation and political attacks against our city, combined with cuts to arts funding, have created a threat to our communities, our culture, and CapitalBop’s mission.

After 15 years, we’re still doing this the best way we know how:

Presenting free festivals on both sides of the Anacostia River
Providing the widely used DC Jazz Calendar for music lovers all over the region
Publishing exciting and informational videos about the music scene
Launching a music education program for young people in Ward 7 with our friends at Washington Parks & People
