Hello, there! I am moving to Guatemala to launch an aftercare initiative for orphans who are aging out of the orphan care system alongside some sweet missionaries who are already down there. Orphans, or those in the orphan care system, age out with little-to-no resources, life skills, and few relationships. They are extremely likely to be incarcerated, trafficked, and/or remain in a state of poverty/food insecurity.

I will be going to Guatemala as a representative of 127 Place, which is a Virginia non-profit devoted to local and international orphan care. Our vision for this orphan care initiative is to have a transitional home for aging-out young adults that is financially self-sustaining (that is the long term goal!) This home will be a place of respite, love, training, and aid as these young adults begin their lives. This initiative is called Haven.

If at any point you would like to learn more information about Guatemala, potential service opportunities, or giving opportunities please email me or havenguatemala@gmail.com .
