In order for a student to be eligible to drive on school property, they must have a valid driver’s license and go through the CCA application process. Students are not permitted to transport other students, except a sibling, to or from school without written permission from all parents involved and school administration. While a student’s vehicle is on school property, the Head of School, or his designee, has the right to search the vehicle if necessary, without obtaining permission from the student or vehicle’s owner. (State Board of Education Rule 160-4-8-.15) If such a search is necessary, the Head of School or his designee will have a witness present during the search. Failure to comply with a search could result in expulsion. Students driving to school should park only in the designated student parking lot.

The application process is as follows:

Vehicle information/application filled out
Copy of driver’s license and insurance on file
Student parent signatures on vehicle search consent form and signatures stating they have read the policies on vehicle use at CCA.
Receive a Parking Permit for vehicle after application process is complete.
Parking permits cost $25.00.
Parking permits must be displayed at all times.

The following regulations apply for students who drive cars to school:

When students arrive to school, they should:

a. Park their cars immediately in the school parking lot. All students must park in the student designated parking lot. No parking elsewhere is allowed.

b. Anyone caught driving to school without the proper permission and/or parking off school property will have all driving privileges suspended immediately.

c. Remove all items needed for the school day.

d. Lock their cars. CCA will assume no liability for vehicles or property inside.

e. Come into the school building.

Students may return to their cars only with permission from the schools administrative office
At the end of the day, students:

a. Should go directly to their cars when dismissed (students are allowed to stay longer for school business only)

b. Leave the parking lot as soon as possible (no loitering)

c. All students involved in sports, or any other extracurricular activities are required to ride the bus provided to practice and games and will not be permitted to drive their cars unless written permission has been given by both the parents and the administration.

d. When a student drives to sports events or any other extracurricular activities following school, he/she must not have anyone in the car, unless sibling, without written permission from all parents and the school's administration.

e. No students will be permitted to ride to and from school or sports activities, or any other extracurricular activities following school without the written approval from all parents and school administration unless members of the same family.

f. The speed limit for the school campus and parking lot is 10 MPH, unless otherwise posted. Any speeding, squealing of tires, loud engines or music, reckless driving of any type, will not be tolerated.

g. Students are subject to the school’s traffic flow regulations.

h. Accidents must be reported to the school office.

i. Should a student need to drive another vehicle to school, other than the one registered, he/she is required to put their parking permit in the vehicle being driven. Once arriving at school, they are to immediately report it to the front office.

NOTE: Remember that driving to school is a privilege, and any violation of policy may result in the loss of driving privileges. Disciplinary action may be required at the discretion of the administration for any reason, at any time.

Student Driver Application
