Christine Conrad Lane was a lifelong dog lover who helped place countless rescue dogs in loving adoptive homes through her volunteer efforts with the RI-based non-profit Rhode Home Rescue.

On January 29, 2025, Christine and her son, Spencer, were killed along with 65 others when a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter collided with American Airlines Flight 5342 near Washington, D.C.

On May 23, 2026, which would have been Christine's 51st birthday, the Christine Conrad Lane Memorial Dog Park was commemorated in Christine's hometown of Barrington, Rhode Island.

The park is now operating in a basic form with temporary fencing. This campaign will help Christine's husband, Doug, and his partners at the non-profit Friends of the Barrington Dog Park realize their vision for a beautiful community space with permanent fencing, a walking path, seating, shade structures, and 67 boulders — one for each person lost in the mid-air collision.
