🎉 Celebrating 40 Years With Purpose: A Birthday Story From Angela York

This year, I’m turning 40, a milestone that has me reflecting deeply on gratitude, community, and the work I’m privileged to lead every day at THRIVE Peninsula.

When I stepped into the role of Executive Director, I knew I was joining an organization with a powerful mission: to support local families facing financial crisis and help them move from surviving to thriving. But I could never have imagined just how many lives I would witness being transformed.

I’ve seen parents walk into the Market worried they won’t have enough food for their children, and leave with bags full of healthy groceries and tears of relief in their eyes.
I’ve watched neighbors, your neighbors, receive help paying a rent or utility bill just in time to keep them safely housed.
I’ve met families who had nearly lost hope, only to find a community ready to lift them back up.

These stories are the heartbeat of THRIVE.

💛 A Birthday Wish That Isn’t About Me

For my 40th birthday, instead of gifts or celebrations, I’m asking for something much more meaningful:

Your gift will go directly toward supporting local families with food, financial assistance, and wraparound support when they need it most.

Provides a full cart of groceries to 10 family who would otherwise go without
Helps keep lights on for a household in crisis
Supports programs that empower families toward long‑term stability
