For years, Working Bikes has partnered with Cycles for Farmers in Uganda. Together we have provided more than 1,700 bikes to people in and around Kampala.

When Working Bikes fans Jay Shefsky and Liz Feldman heard that, they connected Cycles for Farmers with people they know in another part of Uganda to see about setting up a similar operation for farmers and others at a new location.

For many of us, bikes are a source of pleasure and exercise. In Uganda, and in many other places around the world, bikes are a critically needed form of transportation. They can allow farmers to get crops to market, rural students to travel long distances to school, and health care workers to reach more rural patients for screening and care.

This is a great opportunity to give tools and bikes to provide sustainable transportation.

We are starting with 160 bikes. The cost of shipping the bikes, training the mechanics and providing the necessary parts and tools is $16,000. Jay and Liz are providing half that amount. Will you help them reach the goal by making a tax-deductible contribution today?
